The University of Missouri at St. Louis presents the drama In the Blood October 25 - 28. “This 2000 Pulitzer Prize-nominated play is a modern day re-interpretation of Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter. Penned by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright of Top Dog Under Dog Suzan-Lori Parks, we follow the story of Hester and her five fatherless children. Parks uses themes from Hawthorne's text to bring a modern story of poverty and oppression to life.“ Performances take place in the E. Desmond and Mary Ann Lee Theater at the Blanche M.
