St. Louis classical calendar for the week of March 21, 2016

The St. Louis Brass Band
The Sheldon Concert Hall presents the St. Louis Brass Band in High, Fast, and Loud on Tuesday, March 22, at 7:35 PM. “Calling all Trumpet Players, Brass Players, and Music Lovers!!! Come hear Karin Bliznik, Principal Trumpet of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, performing in the intimate, and beautiful Sheldon Concert Hall, with the Saint Louis Brass Band! The Brass Band is thrilled to have Ms. Bliznik join us as Guest Artist and want you to help make this a very special evening for one and all. In addition to the solo works, the band will be performing Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture,” Philip Sparke’s “Harmony Music,” and the beautiful and moving “Hymn for Diana.” As always, the Brass Band will bring along a surprise or two as well. The Tavern of Fine Arts presents Manuela Kaymakanova, violin and Diana Umali, piano in a concert of music by Mozart, Fauré, Piazzolla, and others on Saturday, March 26, at 8 p.m. The Tavern of Fine Arts is at 313 Belt in the Debaliviere Place neighborhood.
