St. Louis Symphony update, 26 November 2010

Olga Kern
Leonard Slatkin makes a triumphant return visit to Powell Hall this weekend, leading the St. Louis Symphony and glamorous virtuoso pianist Olga Kern in a highly satisfying program. The evening opens with a sublime Fratres by Arvo Pärt starring the symphony strings, moves on to rapid-fire Rachmaninov with Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, and closes with a highly charged reading of Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5. There are a couple of surprises along the way as well. Performances continue Saturday at 8 and Sunday at 3, November 27 and 28.  Get your tickets now at slso.org.
