St. Louis classical calendar for the week of November 6, 2017

Eliot Unitarian Chapel presents a Friends of Music concert on Sunday, November 12, at 3 PM. The program includes music by Beethoven and Brahms. The concert takes place at Eliot Unitarian Chapel is at 100 South Argonne in Kirkwood. For more information: fomcstl.org.

The St. Louis Chamber Chorus
The St. Louis Chamber Chorus presents Even Such is Time on Sunday, November 12, at 3 p.m. "Unaccompanied choral music that explores, honors and rues the passage of time by Lassus & Vaughan Williams, C.V. Stanford & his student, Rebecca Clarke. The choir also performs the world premiere of Song for St. Cecilia's Day by Stuart McIntosh, written specially for the Chamber Chorus. For this concert we are also delighted to collaborate with photographer, Jacob Buchowski, whose evocative images will be projected above the choir during the concert." The St. Louis Classical Guitar Society presents a Great Artist Guitar Series concert with The Beijing Guitar Duo on Saturday, November 11, at 7:30 p.m. "Guitarists Meng Su and Yameng Wang, joining together as the Beijing Guitar Duo, have performed to acclaim throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Their debut CD Maracaípe received a Latin-Grammy nomination. Their second CD, Bach to Tan Dun, has commanded international attentionfor the world-premiere recording of Tan Dun's Eight Memories in Watercolor, specially arranged for the duo by Manuel Barrueco." John Storgårds
John Storgårds conducts The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, along with pianist Marc-André Hamelin in music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold, Ravel, and Tchaikovsky Friday at 10:30 a.m, Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m., November 10 - 12. The program features Ravel's Concerto in G and Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. The performances take place at Powell Hall in Grand Center. For more information: stlsymphony.org.

The St. Louis Wind Symphony peforms on Sunday, November 12, at 3 PM. The performance takes place in the Keating Theatre at Kirkwood High School, 801 W. Essex in Kirkwood, MO. For more information: stlwindsym.org.

The Touhill Performing Arts Center presents pianist Alla Voskoboynikova along with David Halen, violin and Yin Xiong, cello in a programof music by Mozart, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky on Thursday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m. The Touhill Performing Arts Center in on the University of Missouri at St. Louis campus. The Washington University Department of Music presents a free faculty concert by pianist Peter Henderson and violinist Kyle Lombard on Sunday, November 12, at 7 p.m. The program includes music by Brahms, Saint-Saëns, and Bach/Stokowski and takes place at the 560 Music Center at 560 Trinity in University City.
