Nine Network presents The 442s in concert on Monday, June 15, at 7:30 p.m.  "The 442s take the stage to share their distinctive and innovative blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock music. Attendees are welcome to bring blankets, chairs and picnic baskets, or purchase dinner and beverages from one of several food trucks that will be on site before the concert. At 7:00 p.m., the St. Louis Symphony’s Volunteer Association will sponsor hands-on musical activities for children and families."  The performance takes place at The Public Media Commons, 3653 Olive in Grand Center.  For more information: ninenet.org.

Opera Theatre of St. Louis presents A Little Lunch Music, a free concert with soprano Devon Guthrie (Pulcheria in Richard the Lionheart), tenor Charles Sy (Adolfo in La rondine), bass-baritone Brandon Cedel (Isacio in Richard the Lionheat), and pianist Damien Francoeur-Krzyzek, on Monday, June 15 at 12:30 PM.  The concert takes place at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood,

This week's performance is on Wednesday, June 17, at 1 p.m. "There's a good reason it's one of the world's most popular operas! Opera Theatre of St. Louis presents Tobias Picker's drama Emmeline in rotating repertory with three other operas through June 27. This week's performances are on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 8 p.m. "Inspired by a compelling true story from a mill town in 19th century New England, Emmeline’s heart-wrenching saga echoes the age-old Oedipus legend." This week's performance is on Saturday, June 20, at 8 p.m. "If you only know him from Robin Hood, you don't know the whole story of Richard the Lionheart. Shipwrecked on the way to the Third Crusade, one of England's bravest kings must disguise himself to protect his future bride and prevent war in a foreign land. But who can he trust in this all-too-real game of thrones? Handel's virtuosic vocal writing in this opera, never before heard in the United States, makes Richard an eagerly-anticipated event for all music-lovers." The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra presents Classical Mystery Tour: A Tribute to the Beatles on Friday, June 19, at 7:30 p.m.   "Classical Mystery Tour returns live with the STL Symphony presenting their legendary tribute to the Fab Four from Liverpool.  More than just a rock concert, this show presents over 30 Beatles tunes including “All You Need is Love,” “Hey Jude,” “Twist and Shout” and much more.  This tribute features the best of the Beatles like you’ve never heard them before!”  The performance takes place at Powell Symphony Hall, 718 North Grand.  For more information: stlsymphony.org.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra presents Cary Hoffman in My Sinatra on Sunday, June 21, at 2 p.m.   "For Father’s Day, join the STL Symphony and actor Cary Hoffman for a 100th birthday celebration in honor of Frank Sinatra. Hoffman brings his celebrated PBS Special, a very true, hilarious and poignant one-man musical play about his love and idolization for his hero Frank, to Powell Hall. The Tavern of Fine Arts presents guitarist Alec Feldges on Friday, June 19, at 8 p.m.  "Classical guitarist Alec Feldges performs at the Tavern before returning to school at Mizzou. Christopher Houlihan
Trinity Lutheran Church presents organist Christopher Houlihan in concert of music by Bach, Brahms, and a full performance of Louis Vierne's Symphony No. 4 in G Minor, on Sunday, June 21, at 7:00 p.m. "Christopher Houlihan has won wide acclaim for his performances all over North America. Nicknamed by his fans as the 'Fred Astaire of the pipe organ,' he has been praised by The Wall Street Journal for his 'dazzling performances' and The New York Times for his 'flexibility and clarity.' Following his Disney Hall debut this fall with members of the LA Philharmonic Brass, the Los Angeles Times called Houlihan 'the next big organ talent'." Trinity Lutheran Church is at 812 Soulard St. in Soulard. The concert is free, although donations will be accepted.

The Bach Society of St. Louis presents an A Choral Celebration of St. Louis on Sunday, February 16, at 3 PM at The Touhill Center on the UMSL campus. “Seven of the region’s finest choirs will present a diverse choral music concert reflecting St. Louis’ rich heritage. In honor of the 250th anniversary of the city of Saint Louis, this benefit concert will be offered free to the public, with donations benefiting the Assistance League of St. Louis…Jim Connett from the Radio Arts Foundation will be the host. Under the umbrella of St. Louis Sings and the Bach Society of Saint Louis, the program will feature: the Bach Society of Saint Louis Chorus, Saint Louis Chamber Chorus, Ambassadors of Harmony, St. Louis Symphony IN UNISON Chorus, the Archdiocesan Chorus, St. Louis Children’s Choirs, and the UMSL University Singers.” For more information: www.bachsociety.org

The 442s
The Center for the Humanities at UMSL presents The 442s on Monday, February 10, at 12:15 PM at the J. C. Penney Conference Center, room 402, on the UMSL campus. "The 442s are what we get when two outstanding members of the world-renowned St. Louis Symphony Orchestra combine with two of the city's finest jazz musicians from the Erin Bode Group. Join us to hear this exciting new acoustic instrumental quartet named for the modern standard tuning of 442 Hz. Brought together by the innovative and inspired compositions of Adam Maness, who plays guitar, accordion, melodica, and glockenspiel in the group, The 442s also features Shawn Weil on violin, Bjorn Ranheim on cello, and Sydney Rodway on bass. In addition to performing, The 442s discuss their unique partnership, compositional style, recording project, and genre-defying sound that is gaining them local and national attention." The Chamber Players of St. Louis and the Laclede Quartet presents a concert by the Maryville Symphony Orchestra on Sunday, February 16, at 3 PM. The concert of Austrian Favorites features Telemann's Concerto in G for viola, Haydn's Symphony No. 68, and Schubert's Symphony No. 8. The Kingsbury Ensemble
The Kingsbury Ensemble presents Vivaldi, Venetian Cantatas and Concertos on Saturday, February 15, at 7:30 PM. “The Kingsbury Ensemble, St Louis early music group on period instruments, will present a program of instrumental and vocal music of the Italian Baroque. Guest soprano Kristen Watson,praised in the New York Times for her "beautifully shaped, carefully nuanced singing" joins Kingsbury musicians Margaret Humphrey and Marc Thayer, violins, Douglas Worthen, flute, Elizabeth Ramos, viola, Ken Kulosa and Stephanie Hunt, cellos, Fred DeVaney, bass, and Maryse Carlin, harpsichord. The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra presents Lift Every Voice: A Black History Month Celebration on Friday, February 14, at 7:30 PM. The concert is part of the STL Symphony in the City series. “his annual concert celebrates African-American cultures and traditions that have influenced the history of St. Louis, as well as cities around the world. The Clarion Brass
The Sheldon Concert Hall presents The Clarion Brass on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 11 and 12, at 10 AM. “Composed of five of the best brass players St. Louis has to offer, the Clarion Brass captures the beauty and majesty of brass repertoire. Led by St. Louis favorite, trumpeter Mary Weber, Clarion Brass performs numerous concerts, educational master classes and private events throughout the St. Louis area.” The Sheldon is at 3648 Washington in Grand Center. The Tavern of Fine Arts presents a classical open stage night on Monday, February 10 from 7:30 – 9 PM. “Come by yourself or bring your quartet. Sight read through a Beethoven quartet or use this as an opportunity to put the finishing touches on that Hindemith Viola Sonata you have been working on. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
