Metro Theater Company presents Go, Dog. Go!, adapted by Allison Gregory and Steven Dietz from the book by P.D. Eastman through April 16. “Yellow Dog, Blue Dog, Red Dog and dogs of all colors, shapes, and sizes live in a magical world where dogs are king. See them work, play, eat, sing, dance, play musical instruments, swim, skate, ride bikes, drive cars, and go for a boat ride. They do it all! They snorkel. They howl at the moon. The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis presents Rajiv Joseph’s Gruesome Playground Injuries April 14 through May 13. “Doug and Kayleen meet as eight-year-olds in the school infirmary. (He tried to ride his bike off the roof. She has a stomachache that her mother blames on “bad thoughts.”) Their lives intersect for the next three decades as they return to each other, alternately revealing and concealing their injuries — both physical and psychological — as they struggle with attraction, vulnerability, and love.” Performances take place on the main stage at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center in Kirkwood, MO. The St. Louis Shakespeare Festival presents the Confluence New Play Festival Friday through Sunday at 7 pm, April 14 - 16. “The third annual new work festival dedicated to spotlighting Missouri and Illinois playwrights on the rise.” The plays are: The Life You Gave Me by Novid Parsi of St. Louis (April 14), Dogs by Hanna Kime of Chicago (April 15), and Titania & Oberon’s Road Trip by e.k. doolin of Edwardsville, IL (April 16). The St. Louis Writers' Group presents the first night of its One Act Play Festival Tuesday April 11 at 6:30 pm “We present a set of new one act (10-20 minute) plays by local playwrights on several themes.
