TPTBT (The Place to Be Tonight): Saturday, March 2

Who: St. Louis University Theatre
What: The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Where: Xavier Hall, 3373 West Pine Mall
When: 8 PM tonight and Sunday at 2 PM.
Why: This just might be the ideal show for a college theatre. It was designed for a small (350-seat) theatre, it incorporates audience participation, and nearly all of the characters are teenagers. In her review for 88.1 KDHX, Sheila Schultz notes: "Book writer Rachel Sheinkin handles pathos and comedy with equal skill in this fast-paced show. The same is true of composer/lyricist William Finn ("March of the Falsettos", "A New Brain")." Veteran St. Louis actor Alan Knoll directs.  For more information, call (314) 977-2998 or visit www.slu.edu/theatre.
